Just got my hands on a Samsung NC10 from NewEgg for about $450.

My first impressions-

Nice keyboard size, feels sturdy, wasn't too slow, light

Backspace key is a bit small, touchpad isnt great

I follow a couple of suggestions online for customizing the base Windows XP install.

First off uninstall the Mcafee Antivirus.

To make the touchpad multitouch you can use this: http://code.google.com/p/two-finger-scroll/

Note: This is for a college class, disregard it.

I'm been braining storming over the design for the professional website I have to develop.

The guy im building the site for said he would prefer your typical menu on the left site, but I want to play around with a few different ideas first.

1. A little bit of whitespace on the left and the right, top menu, dropdown box for "quick navigation" in the top left and a banner at the top.
2. A right menu site.

They both have advances and di...

I wasn't sure what Category to post this in but Politics seemed to fit along with law..

Anyways - I use print, my cursive is horrible - I absolutely hate signing in cursive.

Is there a law in the USA which states you must sign in cursive? Any comments would be appreciated.

Well - I decide to install a spare HD and dual boot with a linux OS.

I selected Fedora to install, I'm not sure why to be honest.

Install went fine, did freeze once during the disk druid thing - just had to restart.

Using it after install was fine, only took some getting used to after using Windows XP.

I found Gaim very pleasing, as I use several messaging clients, very smooth and efficent.

The only real problem I had with the operating system was the updater - its horrible.

Lately as I've been playing games I question if what I am doing is just work or me having fun? Its hard to tell the difference anymore.

Running on the level treadmill is getting old, questing is getting old. Maybe I'm just getting burnt out? Games like Simcity, The Sims, and most MMORPGs for me are just starting to feel like work rather than play. Any suggestion or comment would be appreciated.

Sorry for my sloppyness, its been awhile since I exercised my already nonexistant writing abilit...

Anyone here play Ryzom? I do - why? It's free (open beta) but I wouldnt buy the game.. It's been in open beta for some time now and personally I think it should be in the internal testing stages still (if it even had an internal testing stage).

Developers of MMORPGs need to follow two golden rules:
1. Release when the game is READY, MMORPGs are long term projects delaying you're release date for 3 months and making your game last 2 years longer is worth it. Don't let publishers or parent com...

A new day, a saturday none the less - but alas I awake with a pounding headache.. two pain pills for me while my cat busily(sp?) runs in circles around my feet trying for some attention.

What is the first or second thing any self respecting computer nerd will do when he wakes up? Thats right boot up his computer and check his email (all five accounts) its amazing how much spam I get nowadays(sp?) but apparently I can get free software, cheap medication, naughty little girls, and I can enlarge...

Lets see, what kind of gamer am I? I prefer stratgey, roleplaying, and simulation. A storyline and rolelpaying styled environment really makes a game good for me although I don't think the both are nessicariy(sp?) to have a good time.

I have been known to play FPS on occasion(Counterstrike, Day of Defeat, ST: Elite force 1 - 2, etc..) but I only use those to kill time or for short term enjoyment.

My top ten favorite games of all time:
1. Planescape: Torment
2. Baulders Gate 1-2
3. Star ...
